TO FIND ON:
David Brenner is a child of change. His musical awareness came to life in the early Nineties, during the genesis of a brave new music world. David dove right in, and what started as an interest in electronic music slowly developed into an enthusiasm for synthetic sounds, by which he was greatly influenced. The backstage held more fascination for David than the stage itself. He envisioned his future in the boundless possibilities, combinations and innovations of a musical revolution, and he let himself drift along. As an onlooker, fan and listener, he was a passionate scholar. He gave himself ten years of studying the music before acting on his own initiative in 2003 – because what he learned is that he prefers quality over quantity. As a result, he is now a connoisseur of sound whose appeal lies in his love of detail. Starting as a Techno DJ in the Potsdam area, his compelling beats and the dense rhythms characteristic of the scene, highlighted by groovy vocals, served as an early proof of his talent. First contacts quickly established, but true to form, David Brenner moved forward at his own pace. His music has matured it has been reduced to its roots. David Brenner expands the classic elements which turned him to this music in the first place, and instrumentalized them. His trademark remains a deep minimalistic sound with a powerful bassline, pumping beats and skillfully placed vocal accents. Thus he continues. His own productions are planned, and he has many projects in the pipeline, yet he lives for the moment. The place where sounds are created is where David Brenner works from Deep House to Techno. The flow and change are unstoppable, with work and passion as their witness. David Brenner’s handling of individual parts reaches from the classic to the experimental and mixes the significant with the superficial, creating an impact that holds the same fascination that got him here. His dedication is not lost on his audience. His passion, however, is for the cause alone.
Hello David ! How Are You? What do you have scheduled for today?
i feel really good, it is a beautiful Sunday the sun is shining and i go out in a few hours near the lake to hanging out with some friends, but first i have to record my set for My Favourite Freaks and it is a pleasure for me.
Please tell us something about your experience touring, what is your favourite city or country and why?
i like to be traveling and it is always interesting for me to meet other people from all over the world and
i like the different cultures. My best experience was in Amsterdam, i like the city, clubs and the people it is similar to Berlin. Zurich was also a great experience, i like the party scene there. next month it`s time for Sonar Festival in Barcelona, and i am really looking forward to see some friends again.
But the best thing is when i come back to Berlin from a trip i have always a big smile in my face, the reason, Berlin is the best experience ever.
How would you describe your sound ?
I have many different influences from classic till experimental. That is the reason why i like Techno, it is possible all music genre to combine with each other. My sound is always deep, industrial with a powerful bassline and some accentuated Vocals. At the moment i prefer more minimalistic Tech House and Techno Stuff with electronic surfaces.
What gives you inspiration to make further ?
It is for me an attitude towards life, i think the music itself is for me the best inspiration, music says sometimes more than words.
