LABELS: My Favourite Freaks / Intacto / Zoo:Technique / My Little Dog / Rrygular
With more than ten years of experience behind the decks, you can be sure that Hamburg based DJ and producer Sascha Riot knows how the wind blows. Musically influenced by Soul-, Hip-Hop- and Housetracks of the early 90s, he developed a feeling and taste for a unique mixture of electronic music during the last years.
Without being stuck in genres, he now describes his blend of various styles simply as house music. It is Sascha’s passionate style that gets the crowd hooked on every time he enters the decks. Having started producing music in 2011, his sound is the evidence that he is also able to transfers this passion into his tracks and remixes. Organic sounds, combined with deep and rolling basslines are proof that groove is the key and he deftly showcases his understanding of how to move a crowd as a DJ and even as a producer.
Currently he released tracks and remixes on labels like Intacto, Zoo:Technique, Rrygular and Stil Vor Talent just to name a few and it is not surprising that his releases gain growing strong support of highly profiled key-artists from all over the world.
Now he’s busy working on lots of new stuff for his further release schedule and you can expect a bunch of productions coming up on some prolific labels during the next months.
Sascha Riot is definitely an artist who is worth keeping an eye on.
My Favourite Freaks Interview
Hello Sascha! How Are You? What do you have scheduled for today?
Hey guys, after a long day in the office and a fast dinner I try to get in the right mood to record some podcasts. I’m kind of a perfectionist so that I usually start again from scratch if I’m not happy with a recording but currently I’m a bit delayed with some stuff, so I have to hurry.
Please tell us a bit about your latest releases!
The last release I did was a remix for my buddy FreedomB on a small Berlin based label. Currently I’m concentrating working on some original tracks. At the moment I do not produce as fast as I would like and so everything takes a little longer than planned.
You have a regular daily job, you are producer and DJ. How do you manage this schedule?
It’s all about time management, priorities and a lot of coffee 😉
Tell us a bit about your upcoming releases! Is there anything special planned?
I’m sorry but I can’t announce anything yet. I have some things planned for 2016 but everything needs it’s time.
How would you describe your sound?
I don’t like to think in genres but every time someone asks me how I would describe my sound I give the same answer: Housemusic. It’s that simple.
What were your TOP 5 gigs so far?
It wouldn’t be fair to pick just five certain gigs. I’m enjoying every gig, no matter if I play the warm-up, peaktime or the closing.
What are your top 5 tracks that are really working the dance floor in your sets at the moment?
Emanuel Satie – Come As You Are (Original Mix)
Oxia – Unity (Up mix)
Hauswerks, Anek – The Itch (Original Mix)
Joeski – Glory Of House
Ronnie Spiteri – Thin & Crispy
Thank you for your time and this interesting interview!
