Hello Ale ! How Are You? What do you have scheduled for today?
Hallo ! I’m fine, thanks, i’m working hard at the moment because in 20 days i will start a new trip into Europe and Russia, so for these 20 last days left all scheduled is: select good vinyls to take with me, enjoy my family, my friends, play some gigs, good food and at least try to make some beats in the studio, because i cant take it with me when im traveling..
Does your Pseudonym “Ale Castro a.k.a Rhythm & Substance” have a deeper meaning?
Nothing deeper really, actually Ale Castro is my solo project, and also a shortcut from Alejandro, my real name, and Rhythm & Substance is a live performance together with Stephanos, and i have also Slow Disko, a young hybrid between the live and the DJing shared with Nicolas Behler. All very cool and groovy, but nothing really deeper, is just a name which represented us in that exactly moment when you have to choose a name to start to release your music.
Please tell us a bit about your latest and upcoming releases!
My latest tracks and remixes are released on: Savor Music, Rationalism Records, Trend Records, Kena Records, Dul Recording among others, all of them with good support from respected djs & producers. In the last months, i spent a lot of time in my improvised home-studio in Argentina, drawing the summer time and the machines to create a lot of new music, future labels at the moment would be Savor Music, Ballroom Music and Rationalism Records, but i will check better in Berlin with my friends who have more contacts and experience than me in labels and they will advise me better what can i do with my new music.
Which release was the one who gave you the most attention so far?
Definitely my track ¨Stieglitz¨ released in Savor Music. That Bangin House song was worn by Sidney Charles, he used in Moda Black Podcast, charts on Beatport and RA, and played in a lot of good parties around Europe, that was really nice for me and very helpful to catch more attention from some producers that i like.
How would you describe your sound?
Dirty and Groovy House Music… I guess.
What was your funniest or craziest experience while touring?
Funniest: Our first festival experience in Europe with an old psychedelic latin electro project, we played naked at Fusion Festival and was ridiculous and amazing because they invite us to play again on sunday!
Craziest: well, one time we did almost 4 days in a shitty bus, from Colombia to Peru, i received my happy birthday inside the bus, and we traveled with a religious collective who all the time talk to me about god and give to us food because we didn’t had any money, and we had the stupid idea of smoking a joint in the bathroom of the bus, and the bus driver was so angry with us and threatened to call the police, but who cares, was my birthday.
