My Favourite Freaks Interview

Hey Alex! How Are You? What do you have scheduled for today?
Hey Freaks, just got back from Austria this early morning. Been a couple days snowboarding with some friends and was totally out of everything so I’ve tons of mails to answer. Since I left my Mac Book cable in Austria I am sitting at a friends house. Later in the afternoon some sports and tonight DJing @Sixpack here in cologne.

You are an event promoter and DJ. How about the producer side? Do you have any ambitions or already unreleased tracks in the pipeline?
Well, I always grew up playing instruments, mainly the saxophone which I pretty much threw in the trash bin when I discovered DJing at the age of 18. Therefor I really have ambitions to create my own music. A few month ago, I started an ableton course @EMS here in cologne which helps me to put in enough patience into understanding how ableton works. And let me tell you, patience is not one of my strongest characteristics. But I am getting along and my first track is in progress. Not good enough to show the world. Give me a bit more time here.

Tell us a bit about your upcoming months! Is there anything special planned for?
Let me think. First thing coming into my mind would be my trip to the Phillipines coming up next month. I will be there for one month with my wonderful girlfriend Carolin refilling our system with some energy. DJ wise I will be playing some Open Airs here in Cologne and @Panama Open Air in Bonn which I am really looking forward to the most. Additionally I have some big events coming up. Mostly I am looking forward to the German Nationals in wakeboarding which I am going to host here in cologne at the Fühlinger See. Its going to be a big sport event which I am going to combine with some Streetfood and of course electronic music in form of a big Open Air Party. Wakeboarding has been a passion of myself even longer then Djing and I am happy to get a chance to combine both. Its going to be on 16-17th of July. Don’t miss it 😉

What was your funniest or craziest experience while touring?
Think for a minute please. CANT TELL YOU THAT ONE!

What were your TOP 5 gigs so far?
Panama Open Air at the Bonner Rheinauen last year in front of I don’t know how many thousand people –I think it were around 15000- was definitely outstanding.
Playing after D-Nox & Beckers @Heinz Gaul last summer was a personal thing for me because I grew up partying @Poison Club in Düsseldorf where they were residents. I admired them back then and of course today.
Playing Odonien after Andreas Henneberg B2B Beth Lydi last Dezember because I had to pick up the pace. And the pace was sick!!!
Playing right before Koletzki in a small club called Tante Rike was steamy.
Playing @Sixpack because it is my little second home.

What are your top 5 tracks that are really working the dance floor in your sets at the moment?
…I gotta make it 8. Cant decide:.
Transitions feat. Forrest (Ramon Tapia Do What You Do Remix) – Danny Serrano
Haute Mess (ANNA Remix) – NERVO
Momentum (Original Mix) from ANNA
Run Back (Original Mix) – Mark Reeve
Rhythm Box (Original Mix) – Danny Daze
Subzero – Ben Klock
Rave – Sam Paganini
Matter – Samu.l
