Labels: ANIMO,Nite / LAPSUS MUSIC / KING STREET SOUNDS
Alfonso Arés’s relationship with electronic music began 15 years ago when he began working in the Madrid club scene. His experience with the scene, combined with his innovative attitude, has made him a well-rounded artist.
He began as a DJ in smaller disco venues and well-known clubs around Spain. He quickly advanced to festivals and big productions, like Sensation and Goa, which allowed him to make the leap to the international scene.
Alfonso has a profound love of music and a deep passion for the history of electronic music. These can be seen in his sessions that began with house music and progressed into tech and deep. This artist is committed to each one of his sets focusing on the rhythm and above all, the quality.
As a producer he has continuously polished his sound. His work has already been recognized for his style which shares roots with the New York DJ „Night Grooves“ and the Holland based „Playmobil.“ and the italian Lapsus Music. He is also like other sound specialists such as „Regular“, „Klopfgeist“, or „Highway Recordings“. Thanks to his skills, and a large knowledge base of the different styles, he has demonstrated his versatility in the studio.
In 2014, he continued to reach for a higher level and presented ANIMO; a label that releases music from well-known artists, promotes events which focus on creating a unique experience, and designs exclusive products for professionals and music enthusiasts.
My Favourite Freaks Interview
Hello Alfonso! How Are You? What do you have scheduled for today?
Hi Guys, I’m really fine thanks. Next week I’ll go to Mexico, so we’re getting everything ready for the trip.
You are label owner (Animo), producer and touring almost every weekend. How do you manage this massive schedule?
Sometimes it’s a bit stressful, but I really enjoy doing my job, so it’s just a matter of organizing
Please tell us a bit about your latest releases!
My last release was a collaboration with my homie Mountage released on Supernova „Lapsus Music“ called Cabernet and a special tribute to Brazilian musician SUBA (who passed away during a fire in his studio) called Solera, publishad by the legendary King Street from New York.
Tell us a bit about your upcoming releases! Is there anything special planned in 2016?
I have lots of unsigned material from the last year that could release during 2016. Also I´m planning to release my first solo album in Animo Records
What was your funniest or craziest experience while touring?
Lot of funny experience, but during this year in ADE 2015 I rented a mini scooter and discovered the other side of Amsterdam and was really crazy.
What were your TOP 5 gigs so far?
I’ve spent amazing nights during my residency in Suite Club Madrid. I’m also really enjoyed in our boat party celebrating first year of Animo Records in Ibiza last summer. Of course playing at Burning Man in a mutant car touring the desert was an amazing experience. Always love to play at Goa@Fabrik in Madrid and also ADE in Amsterdam this year was great.
