MFF Pod Friends 14 Pete Kaltenburg Banner

LABELS: Subinstinct Rec. / Flauschig Rec. / Weplayminimal

As a Dj Pete plays all over Germany.
From Munich to Berlin to Kassel or Karlsruhe everywhere his sound delights and people celebrate it.

He is resident for FABRIK, Bayreuth as well as Houseconnections @ MorphClub, Bamberg. Here he played with artists like Sidney Charles, David Pher, Patrick Kunkel, Johanna Knutson, Rafael Kakudo, Yooj,, Channel X and so on.
His classic CD-Setup allows him to concentrate on clear mixing but especially track selection is always on his focus. “The perfect track selection lets me reach my goal in seeing people on the dancefloor with a big fulfilled smile enjoying the music.“

He ranges between DeepHouse, House and Techhouse to fulfill his self-paced aspiration to always play the perfect sound for every single gig. His sound often comes down with a phat baseline and some catchy vocals which makes people get into party mood. So you hear tracks of Dr. Dru, Danye S, Homework, to Leftwing, Detriot Swindel, Nice7 and Huxley over to Hector Cuto, Santé and Darius Syrossian in his Sets .

His online mixtapes enjoys great popularity with round about 25.000 plays on Soundcloud. When he mixes it is always important for him to tell a story and take his listeners on a journey through the ups and downs of an arc of suspense ending with a happyend. Principally you will never witness Pete stumbling in a set with balls to the wall because he follows a citation of Butch: „‚You can’t go to a Girl and stick directly your D***k in her P****y. It’s the same with DJing you got to start slow!“

In 2010 Mr. Kaltenburg started to produce music. His Release on Flauschig Records “Don’t Let“ made it into the Traxsource Hype Charts. His EP on Weplayminimal starts getting successfull and was already palyed by Tocadisco in his Radioshow Tocacabana. Now some great Releases are knocking at the Door.

Hello mate! How Are You? What do you have scheduled for today?
Hi! Oh I got a lot of things to do. Now its time to go in the Studio. Working on a Remix for the Legend Brett Johnson at the moment and have to finish some Tracks for my upcoming EP on Good For Your Records from New York. After that I go straight to my Garage to finish my Harley. Got to ride. Weather is too good!!

Please tell us a bit about your latest and upcoming releases!
My latest EP’s where released on Forest Walker Records from Belguim and Colour In Music from Portugal. The “Lovin You EP” on Forest Walker came with some nice Remixes by my Mentor and Steffen Kopp and RIGHT ON. The “Shred EP” on Colour In Music came with great Remixes by Ed Ed, Rick Grant and Ross Waldemar. This Week a Collab with my Buddy Stephan Licha was released on a the Summercompilation of the Zurich based Label Shikki Mikki.

Which release was the one who gave you the most attention so far?
The Sweet Hard EP with Julian Wassermann on Dear Deer had a lot of attention. It was #14 Beatport Indie Dance / Nu Disco. It also was played by Pete Tong in his BBC Radio 1 Show. Sister Blister also introduced it in her show. Its coming an Remix EP later this year with Remixes by Channel X and Teenage Mutants.
But my “Lovin You” EP on Forrest Walker was also pretty successful. I made it up to #6 in the Traxsource Tech House Charts with the Original of “Lovin You”. There was some nice support from Gusy like Seth Troxler, Riva Starr, Gene Farris, Reboot, Animal Trainer and many more. The Right On Remix of Straigth was charted by Audiojack and Lovin you by SUPERNOVA.

How would you describe your sound?
My Sound is kind of Tech House with Traditional and Oldschool Grooves and drums wich come down with some heavy and melodic Baseline. And I’m a Vocal lover so you will find often some chachy vocals in my Sets and Productions.

What was your funniest or craziest experience while touring?
