MFF Pod 248 Brennen Grey Banner

Brennen Grey has anchored himself at the forefront of the rich and evolving Techno scene by pushing boundaries and honing a sound that’s both dark, and progressive at the same time! Equally grateful to garner respect and support for his tracks from huge names like Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, and Victor Ruiz as well as unknown artists holding up the underground scene on their backs with blood sweat and passion.

His sets weave a tale of high energy, deep, driving Techno that’s equally at home at festivals he’s played like EDC Vegas, Movement Detroit, and ADE or any number of sweat laden warehouses and clubs you can find him playing at 3am.

Hello mate!  How Are You? What do you have scheduled for today?
Guten Morgen guys, I’m great thank you! today is a chill day in the studio actually, Spending all of January experimenting and trying new things which is fun!

Please tell us a bit about your latest releases!
Ahhh… I’m really proud of all my 2018’s releases… but the last couple months have seen the 4 track “H is for Hercules” EP on Kraftek including the collab with Pleasurekraft and an EP on Riot called “The North Star”

Which release was the one who gave you the most attention so far?
“H is for Hercules” was easily the release that accumulated the most respect from my peers/fellow DJ’s, but I did an edit of an old school trance tune “It’s a Fine Day” on top of  my song “Through the Lens” that’s out on Carl Cox’s Label Intec that has practically gone viral… well as viral as a techno song can go hahaha.

Tell us a bit about your upcoming releases! Is there anything special planned?
VERY special… next 2 songs are remixes on Respekt and Kraftek, I truly love doing remixes, takes the pressure off telling an individual story or broader strokes of an EP/LP. One of the remixes is a dream come true actually! It’s a remix of one of my favorite songs off of Pleasurkraft’s Album “Friends, Lovers, and other Constellations”

What were your TOP 5 gigs so far?
This is a Tough one… i was really lucky to have so many incredible gigs in 2018, Burning Man with Carl Cox at his Playground Stage is always a highlight, My first 7 hour Open to Close with the “Humans” crew in El Paso was nuts… and B2B with Pleasurekraft in Guadalajara was Glorious…

But if I had to pick one I’d say the set at Insomniac’s “Nocturnal Wonderland”… I played pretty early and expected to play a little more mellow, but this huge, beautiful stage up on a hill at sunset flooded with people and was chaos from start to finish! The crowd response in real life and socials was unreal!!!

What are your top 5 tracks that are really working the dance floor in your sets at the moment?
I tend to play equal parts Brand new tunes and throw backs, so this may not read like a “what’s new and hot” set list , but here we go!!!

Garry Beck – Before the Crash (Original Mix)
Stephen Disario x UAKOZ – Manipulate (Original_Mix)
Abyssvm – Artemisia Absinthium (Original Mix)
Beico & Mt93 – Fenix (Original Mix)
Phutek – Control (Original Mix)

Special Shout to  Joyhauser, 2pole, and Romiro Lopez, everything they have been putting out lately has been perfection!!!
