Owner of VOLTAGE Records, Anna’s lifetime purpose was obvious from a very young age. Music dominated her life since she started studying as a child, getting her through 2 decades of hard work in music schools to reach the standard she set for her self.
Sleeping next to her Kurzweil piano for countless nights, Anna focused on composing music regardless of the genre. For the last 10 years she has worked „behind the scenes“ producing music for genres varying from Triphop to Techno, when she finally made the decision to create her own solo project in the year 2012, serving her life long love: Techno.
With obvious influences from Pig&Dan’s oldschool scents, Marco Bailey’s punchy vibes and Tom Hades‘ relentless groove, her music is spontaneous and intense, but the more experienced listener will spot a pinch of spicy Acid House of the 90’s – music that was playing 24/7 inside her home as she grew up.
Anna’s music is definitely characteristic in sound, “not for everybody” as she says, as it represents her lifelong experiences, forged inside her mentality by her biggest musical influence: her father.
Apart from managing her own rapidly growing imprint, VOLTAGE Records, Anna has been releasing her music through important labels of the underground scene, like Pig&Dan’s ELEVATE, Alberto Ruiz’s Stick Recordings, RESPEKT, Funk’n Deep, Reload Black Records, London based Familia Records, Renesanz and many many more.
She has remixed Pig&Dan, Ron Costa, Skober, Alberto Ruiz, Durtysoxxx, just to name a few, and her music has been remixed by Arjun Vagale, Skober, Tom Hades, The Reactivitz, TKNO and many many more.
Hello Anna! How Are You? What do you have scheduled for today?
Today is Monday, so I’ll be working until 17:00 and then I’m heading back at the studio to listen to as many demos as possible! Balcony, headphones, Amaretto and music.
Please tell us a bit about your latest releases!
My latest release was on Nicole Moudaber’s iconic MOOD Records. It was “The God Particle EP”, a hardware made 3 tracker in collaboration with my brother in groove M.I.T.A. We worked 3 months straight for this record but the fact that it went on such an important label really payed off. Just before that, I had 2 releases on Pig&Dan’s ELEVATE. I remixed their iconic Modular Baptism on their label and 10 days later I released my personal EP called “Cerebral Vortex”. More are coming soon, but at the moment i can’t really disclose anything!
Which release was the one who gave you the most attention so far?
Definitely my remix on Pig&Dan’s Modular Baptism on ELEVATE and my 2 tracker “The Prophet” on Unusual Recordings. That remix went straight to #11 and stayed in the top 100 for almost 2 months, so definitely this one.
Tell us a bit about your upcoming releases! Is there anything special planned?
Yes there are a lot of special plans in the horizon. I have a major release coming soon and another one signed, but not really sure of the date for the second. Unfortunately I can’t say the labels yet, but they’re on labels I admire so much! Also, I have my personal EP releasing on VOLTAGE soon which is going to be a twist in my music production style, experimenting with lots of genres simultaneously, with the core being, of course, techno.
As you are touring a lot, please tell us something about your experience. What is your favourite city or country and why?
My favourite city is definitely Amsterdam. I played at Melkweg there 2 times, and the experience as well as the response of the people to my music was incredible! Another memorable atmosphere is the one at Egg London. Much more intimate and much more focused on harder techno vibes!
What were your TOP 5 gigs so far?
Um definitely Amsterdam with VOLTAGE at Melkweg, Steam Athens with Spektre and Durtysoxxx, Cariocas at Alepochori with Pig&Dan, Egg London with Luigi Madonna and Christian Smith and Bulgaria at Fabrica 126 with Skober!
What are your top 5 tracks that are really working the dance floor in your sets at the moment?
ANNA V. – Cerebral Vortex

Spektre – In Reverie
