LABELS: Suara, Kraftek, Phobiq
During the winter of 2016 the Italian-Argentinian duo Beico & MT93, consisting of Maurizio Tramontana and Tomás Ferrari, started their ¬first steps in Mar del Plata (Argentina). In this city their interest and love for music developed. Driven by their passion they learned to play piano, guitar and drums, which later inspired them to start producing electronic music. After months of hard work, the duo ¬developed a solid and unique sound, which led them to produce for the best record labels in the underground electronic music scene.
Despite of their young age and short career, Beico & MT93 already reached unexpected success with releases on record labels like Suara, Phobiq Recordings, Renesanz Records, unri’li:s and Riot Recordings. In spring 2018 they even hit number 1 in the Beatport Top 100 Techno charts with their track ‘Let There Be Dark’ on Kraftek Music. Since there are of course more releases scheduled for 2018, these two young artists are definitely a duo to look out for.
Hello mate! How Are You? What do you have scheduled for today?
Hello colleagues, thank you very much for giving us this opportunity to have an interview with you. We are very well and happy because there is only little time left until our tour in Europe.
Please tell us a bit about your latest releases!
As you know, in 2018 we started to sign EP’s for some of the best labels in the world (Suara, Kraftek, Unrilis, Phobiq). We were lucky to place almost all of our tracks in the top 100 of the best techno tracks on Beatport. We were able to reach the number 1 techno Beatport position in the world with our track „Let There Be Dark – Kraftek“ and that was the beginning of us becoming international artists.
Which release was the one who gave you the most attention so far?
As we said before, the most relevant track was „Let There Be Dark“ released under the label of our friend Pleasurekraft. Speaking of position number 1 was crazy for us. But deep down we knew that this track was going to have a very good impact. Supported by: Deadmau5, Eric Prydz, Carl Cox, Monika Kruse, Pleasurekraft, Charlotte de Witte, Felix Krocher and more. It is really a dream for us, given the young age we are.
Tell us a bit about your upcoming releases! Is there anything special planned?
There is always something planned, nothing concrete for now. Just working hard in the studio and when it’s time, we will launch our best productions.
As you are touring a lot, please tell us something about your experience. What is your favourite city or country and why?
We are looking forward to our first tour in Europe, to be able to please many of our fans that we have abroad. Obviously, we here in Argentina have a very warm fanbase, one of the hottest in the world. We are very anxious to get to know the public of Germany, we have very good repercussion there and soon we will be in that country in several clubs and on festivals.
What were your TOP 5 gigs so far?
Almost all the events we played at were fun and each one of them will remain in our memory forever. Whether the club is big or small, we have to be grateful and remember where we come from. If we have to make a ranking, it would be this:
- Amerika Club Buenos Aires
- Only Cultura Club
What are your top 5 tracks that are really working the dance floor in your sets at the moment?
- Beico & MT93 – Let There Be Dark [Kraftek]
- Beico & MT93 – The Snake Awake [Unrilis]
- Beico & MT93 – Love Your Life [Suara]
- Beico & MT93 – Eternity [Suara]
- Beico & MT93 – Touching The Stars [Unrilis]
Thank you for your time and this interesting interview!
