My Favourite Freaks Interview

Hello mate! How Are You? What do you have scheduled for today?
-Ciao Lars! I’m going to my Studio very early but before that I’m having a nice cafè espresso. I usually spend the morning working in my music, because that’s when I feel refreshed, and in the afternoon I work with the Sincopat and Pobla Teams.

You are A&R (SINCOPAT), producer and touring almost every weekend. How do you manage this massive schedule?
– By devoting all my life to music. I work very hard and put all my heard and a lot of effort to it.

Plase tell us a bit about your latest releases!
This year started on a large scale with an EP in Dantze (Nicone & Philip Bader label). It’s a very interesting EP full of experimental sounds, such as electronic but also organic sounds. The EP has 3 tracks + a remix of the German duo “Sokool”. I have also enjoyed remixing, with a deeper sound, Ron Flatter & Definition for Einmusika and Gabriel I, Jamin Hernandez with singer Sutja Gutierrez’s deep voice for Tenampa.

Tell us a bit about your upcoming releases! Is there anything special planned in 2016?
-I have scheduled to work in collaboration with artists such as Third Son, Just Her and Victor Ruiz, all of whom are producers I really admire. I am also working on some remixes and releases, but it may be too soon to talk about that.

What was your funniest or craziest experience while touring?
Well, the craziest anecdote so far was when I travelled to one gig some time ago. Everything that could go wrong did: some of the worst turbulences I have ever experienced during the flight, really, it felt like a rollercoaster. Then the plane almost couldn’t land because of the weather conditions – Thumbs-up to the pilot, really. And to top it off, the courtesy car broke down in the middle of the highway. Hahaha… it WAS crazy! Thank god the crowd at the party was so fantastic that it all paid off.

What were your TOP 5 gigs so far?
-Amongst my favourite gigs, there are without a doubt Sincopat’s last showcases at Metro Dance Club (Spain) and at Cafè Gold (Switzerland), where I was able to share the experience with my great friend Affkt. Our showcase at ADE 2015, with collages such as Raxon, Third Son, was also fun and interesting. There are two other gigs that I especially enjoyed in the last few months: SubZhero Disco Club (Palma de Mallorca, Spain) and Q-Hondarribia (North of Spain).

What are your top 5 tracks that are really working the dance floor in your sets at the moment?
– Wehbba – View Of Delft (Original Mix) [Systematic Recordings]
– Affkt – Pied Piper (Original Mix) [My Favourite Freaks Music]
– Mattia Pompeo – Nuage (Original Mix) [Sincopat]
– D-Nox, Victor Ruiz – Arise (Original Mix) [Sudbeat]
– Third Son feat Haptic – Fate (Original Mix) [Sincopat]

Thank you for your time and this interesting interview!
