Biographie deutsch:

Biographie english:

The Berlin based DJ and Producer Stefan Mint is a rare commodity in the world of House and Tech House. Just like old vinyl discs in condition “mint”, fresh, new, irreproachable state. Certainly never been played, possibly even still sealed – this is the definiton. Stefan is acting in the underground scene for more than 10 years now. This is a remarkable time. And be sure the claim on his standard never loses priority. His values are not mainstream orientated. His productions are not preset handicapped. Time and time again Stefan decides to use individual sounddesign and each production grows up from the ground. Creating stories with long DJ sets is important to him. The good old DJ skills are his basis. His Motivation: Building a big energy with the dancefloor crowd from sunset to sunrise.

Once bitten by the techno bug, Mr. Mint moved to Berlin in 2011. In the meantime a lot happened. He worked at George Morel’s label Groove On and for Dantze – where he is still operating nowadays. His productions are released on imprints such as CROSSFRONTIER AUDIO and of course DANTZE. Just like these labels Stefan’s sound can be described as deep, progressive and playful. His name appears in line-ups of Berlin’s sceneclubs like Watergate, Kater, Sisyphos or Ritter Butzke. Join the dancefloor crowd and be ready for Stefan Mint!

Hello Stefan! How Are You? What do you have scheduled for today?
Hey hey, today i’m finishing a track for an EP together with my mate Coss.

Please tell us a bit about your latest releases!
My last release was on Sascha Braemers Label Whatiplay with remixers like Hermanez & Greenville Massive.
I was producing both originals after a nice stay in Copenhagen, where I had a lovely Trance afterhour. Maybe that’s the reason the tunes have this reduced progressive spacey touch. And of course some danish support from the remix side.

Which release was the one who gave you the most attention so far?
It’s hard to say, at the moment it feels like the most attention comes from my dj sets. But I think the release which got the most attention so far was the “Conventional Wisdom” EP on Crossfrontier Audio.

Tell us a bit about your upcoming releases! Is there anything special planned till end of the year?
As I mentioned before, i’m doing a lot together with Coss at the moment, slower sound and a bit leftfield. I’m mixing down our upcoming Album for our label Metanoia right now. But i’m also producing an EP together with Joshua Jesse, it’s more Techno and progressive stuff, for which we had some conversations with an awesome label so far.

As you are touring a lot, please tell us something about your experience around the globe. What is your favourite city or country and why?
I’ve met so many great people in different cities, that all have their very own beautiful sides. Normally i’d like to stay a bit longer, to get into the scene and the culture that’s happening around the parties I play.

What was your funniest or craziest experience while touring?
Maybe it cannot be named by one specific experience, but I think it’s really funny, that a lot people came to my booth and asked me if I could play some goa or psytrance. I was questioning myself why they do it so often, so I decided to start a new goa act next months together with a friend.

What were your TOP 5 gigs so far?
Easter at sisyphos,
2 times NYE at sisyphos,
my first sisyphos gig at the beach
Basement Copenhagen with the Mirage Collective
and some really great gigs at Watergate

What are your top 5 tracks that are really working the dance floor in your sets at the moment?

Harvey McKay – Foreshadow (Frankeyeffe Remix)
Alberto Ruiz, Joe Red – Fade Out
Stefan Mint – Seeds (Hermanez Tunnel Dub)
Raxon – Overloard
Coss – Patterns Of Healing (unreleased)

Thank you for your time and this interesting interview!
