LABELS: CADENZA / DIYNAMIC / VISIONQUEST
Since his debut in Diynamic in 2009 until his Newcomer Dj Award in 2013, UNER has doubtlessly had the time of his life.
After a whole life devoted to music, the reward comes in all levels, gigs all over the globe and his music released by the best electronic music labels; he’s a regular at labels like Visionquest, Cocoon, Cadenza, Cécille or Diynamic, the label which has released on 2014 his debut album, “432”, the most personal view of a UNER that loves house, techno, melodies and vocal harmonies, a work that shows the ripeness and grace status of this Dj and producer and has been very well received among audience and critics.
Year after year many things are happening in UNER’s life, he reaches outstanding positions in the most important Resident Advisor tops, he wins DJ Awards as best newcomer and Vicious Award as artist of the year, he gets sponsorship deals with top brands as Native Instruments, Burn or Adidas. The followed path was great but UNER’s ambition makes everything accomplished just the starting point for the next step. The results are at display, as much in Ibiza, where he actively takes part in important parties like Ants (Ushuaia) or Carl Cox The Revolution (Space), as in the rest of Europe (being a regular at clubs like Berlin’s Watergate or at festivals like Sonar) and in America, where he tours both North and South on an ongoing basis.
UNER unleashes his true potential during his gigs. His Dj-sets are powerful, burst with energy and personality, and are aimed at the Dancefloor. His setup, constantly evolving, combines four decks, dozens of FXs, touch controllers and a sampler, so during his sessions only his creativity is the limit. Also his musical selection always brings some surprise, therefore his funny character so unexpected as it can be.
Definitively, UNER offers a great musically experience that is hard to forget.
Hello mate! How Are You? What do you have scheduled for today?
Going to studio. I have to finish a new track, and get everything ready for tomorrow. I’m traveling to Madrid to prepare the last tracks for my new project UNER live band. We are going to present the project at IMS Ibiza next May 20th
Does your Pseudonym “UNER” have a deeper meaning?
At first, the name was just a combination of letters without meaning. I wanted to have a name without meaning, then scene could not assess who was the person who was behind, but simply the music. It is a handicap that sometimes you can find, being valued for who you are or where you come from and not the music you do (the most important at the end).
Sometimes there is something absurd in the scene, as this kind of things.
Please tell us a bit about your latest and upcoming releases!
My last release was the remix for „Parquet“, release number 100. A „mind trip remix“ for Solee. Next, my most important staff till now, i think. It was a pleasure and a challenge but i think the track is amazing… Im talking about my remix for the master Laurent Garnier.
It will be released this month :)))
My favourite track Uner was always “BassBoot” on Diynamic. But now you got me with “Silencio” again, it’s such a cool tune.
Where you’ll find inspiration for such soulful tracks and how much time you need to create them?
The inspiration is coming from the silence. I need to be in silence, just with myself and my soul to find the best way for a track. That’s why the track is Silencio (silence in spanish). About the time i need, it depends my mood, but usually is really short the process. I take some time doing the track in my mind first and then i go to the studio and i start to play.
How would you describe your sound?
just emotional. Music from my soul.
As you are touring a lot, please tell us something about your experience around the globe. What is your favourite city or country and why?
Yes. We are touring every week. Sometimes it’s exhausted but I’m super happy 🙂
I love every place around the world. Every city, every country have something special!!! So it would be difficult to choose just one for me. At this time i can remember my first time in Bali. It was super inspirational, intense and special. I wanna go back soon…
What was your funniest or craziest experience while touring?
Traveling with my manager Alex is always crazy, so… jajajaja
