LABELS: AFU Limited, Driving Forces, Plakat Records, Subcodex
Dave´s slogan is: „Music is life!“ Just that easy.
His interest for Electronic Music was sparked at the tender age of 13 and runs through his life like a golden thread. Dave is a part of Frankfurt´s Techno Scene since 2002 and he held residencies in clubs like the legendary „U60311“ in Frankfurt or the famous „MTW Club“ in Offenbach. He played shows at Berlin´s well-known „Tresor“ on a regular base, as well as touring other great clubs and festivals in different parts of Germany, which turns out as a logical consequence of his passionate work and his constant development. He is famous for his tough, hypnotic and euphoric sets and in combination with his sympathic character, people love to see him behind the decks.
Dave Simon is not only a brilliant DJ, he has a proven talent as a producer as well. After releases on „Plakat Records“ and „Subcodex“ he released his highly respected „Methanal EP“ on Thomas P. Heckmann´s legendary label „AFU Limited“. But this is not the end…
Dave is continuing his tireless work on fresh productions. Some of those got signed by famous labels and are going to be released later this year. Watch out!
Related to management and bookings, Dave made the next step and joined the brandnew booking agency „Modular Source“, which is the home for artists like Stigmata, Toni Rios, Chris Hope or TKNO, to name a few.
My Favourite Freaks Interview
Hello Dave! How Are You? What do you have scheduled for today?
Hey Stefan, I´m fine! Hope same for you. Today I´m letting my creativity flow: I´m finishing a new production in the studio.
Tell us a bit about your upcoming months! Is there anything special planned for?
After a „babybreak“ for my new born daughter there are a lot of new challenges coming up in the near future. My schedule is filling up and I´m starting a new residency at the famous MTW Club with a monthly show. By the way, I´m really happy to announce that I have new upcoming releases on amazing labels. Watch out!
What was your funniest or craziest experience while touring?
The craziest thing happened to me when I played at Freiheit2112 in Frankfurt. In the middle of my set soundsystem and lights stopped. No sound and no lights at all. Probably the worst situation for an performing artist. But I managed it somehow to keep the party people in the mood. After a five-minute-blackout fortunately the power came back so I was able to continue rocking the audience and the people were going nuts
What were your TOP 5 gigs so far?
For me, every gig is special but of course especially my shows at Tresor in Berlin or the legendary U60311 in Frankfurt were amazing to the max!
What are your top 5 tracks that are really working the dance floor in your sets at the moment?
Just have a look on my tracklist and choose 5 of them 😉
Thank you for your time and this interesting interview!
