Biography

„In a world where everything has already been invented, there will always need to create something new“.
DRAG & DROP come on as a dynamic dj and producer duo from Frankfurt. 2012 was the year the two guys established their label Konzept Musique and decided to share their musical visions under yet another synonym. Whereas both come from different musical schools it was the mixture and inspiration in the other that spurred them to their new electronic project.
They blend all sorts of house and techhouse sounds, fx and grooves even adding some dubstep textures. Lately they found that they fall not only for strong grooves but also for recognizable breakdowns, wobbly interludes and dramatic synths, all ending up in inventive and playful tracks, some of which u might call „Techstep“, according to DRAG & DROP themselves.
Whether experimenting or delivering functional, dirty grooves, DRAG & DROP are all for the floor, hence their tracks got reviewed in DJ MAG. They both played clubs from Frankfurt to Berlin and Italy. Cocoon Club has been under their control as much as the trippy friendly crowd at Berlin’s infamous Kater Holzig, where everybody’s darling Sascha Braemer roadtested the DRAG & DROP tunes after signing them onto his whatiplay imprint. Their podcast for his label made them meet over 20.000 new fans that now like the principle in DRAG & DROP: tracks that moves you!

Interview

Hello mate!  How Are You? What do you have scheduled for today?
Hi folks, we feel good! Everything is fine 😉 What do we have scheduled for today? To be positive! Taking and givin love through a great tool: MUSIC!

Please tell us a bit about your latest releases!
Last years especially the 2016 was great for us, it gaves us the chance to show our way to make music being the remixer of big artists such as: LOCO & JAM – GAGA – TONY DEE – UGLH – FABIO NEURAL – NEVERDOGS – TONI RIOS – MATT SASSARI – ARADO and more

Which release was the one who gave you the most attention so far?
uhmmmm…definitely “SAVE THE DAY” released on Monique Musique remixed by Arado, happened already tons of times that people from the crowd while we were playing, come and show us the display of their phone pointing the track saved on and it’s always SAVE THE DAY the original mix 🙂

Tell us a bit about your upcoming releases! Is there anything special planned?
Music is always special! but yes there are some works in progress, november will be release out on Unity records the D-UNITYs label, our remix for Tony Dee from Suara, after this one comes out another remix we have done for Neverdogs (Music On) on EMBI Music and will be release in Vinyl format, then our EP on our own label konzept musique and we are working on a own special EP which hopefully will be taken by a big label.

As you are touring a lot, please tell us something about your experience around the globe. What is your favourite city or country and why?
It’s always a pleasure to go here and there visiting new places and meeting new people, but yes sometimes it could be hard. We like to make party and sometimes we forget to go home 😀 and it happens always in 3 cities: Frankfurt, Berlin and Ibiza. But we have no “favourite” city or country, every place is different and we like it exactly for this reason.

What were your TOP 5 gigs so far?
Our hearts are Italian but we are Frankfurters too, it means that the position 1 goes to:
1. COCOON CLUB
2. Sisyphos – Berlin
3. Sankeys – Ibiza
4. Stadt Land Bass – Frankfurt
5. World Club Dome – Frankfurt

What are your top 5 tracks that are really working the dance floor in your sets at the moment?

1. Matt Sassari & D-unity – Fired Up
2. Drag & Drop – Symmetric (unreleased)
3. Patrik Berg – Pure (The Plot Music)
4. Reinier Zonneveld – Things We Might Have Said
5. Deep Dish – Stay Gold

Thank you for your time and this interesting interview!
